Recognition of Prior Learning · Real Skills Deserve Real Recognition

Put Your Industry Experience Toward a Nationally Recognised Qualification.

If you’ve been doing the work, AIE’s RPL pathway assesses the skills and knowledge you already have against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.

  • Real evidence
  • Real assessment
  • Recognition based on what you can demonstrate

RPL is granted only where you demonstrate the required competency through AIE’s assessment process. Where competency cannot be demonstrated, RPL will not be granted for the relevant unit or units, and further training may be required separately.

* Up to 30% scholarship available for eligible applicants.
* Scholarships are subject to eligibility criteria. Enquire to find out if you qualify. Terms and conditions apply.

Find out if RPL fits your experience

Tell us what you’ve been doing and what you can show for it. We’ll come back with whether RPL is the right pathway, what evidence you would need, and what happens next.

By sending this enquiry, I agree that AIE may contact me by phone, email or SMS about the RPL assessment and courses I’ve asked about. I can ask to stop being contacted at any time. AIE handles my information in line with its Privacy Policy. Submitting this form is an enquiry, not an application, and does not grant recognition of any unit or qualification.

Which one are you?

For tradespeople

You’ve Done The Work. Let’s Get It On Paper.

Ten years on the tools doesn’t always come with a certificate. RPL assesses the skills you’ve already built on the job against a real qualification so you’re not sitting through training for things you can already do.

For employers

The Right Person For The Job Is Already On Your Team.

Formal recognition doesn’t have to mean pulling your best people off the floor for months. AIE assesses existing staff against a real qualification, so their experience counts on paper as well as on the job.

Our RPL assessment process

Five steps, and you know what each one asks of you.

Step 01

Initial Consultation

We talk through your background, your goals, and whether RPL is the right fit for you.

Step 02

Self-Assessment

You identify your current level of workplace exposure against required units.

Step 03

Interview

Your self-assessment will be reviewed by an AIE assessor and an assessment program will be established.

Step 04

Theory & Practical Assessment

Theory knowledge will be assessed and one of our industry-experienced assessors verifies your competency directly in your workplace, not just on paper.

Step 05

Gap Training

If Required: Where the RPL assessment identifies competency gaps, AIE will explain those gaps and provide targeted gap training where required before further assessment.

Why RPL at AIE

We Don’t Promise 30-Day Qualifications. We Assess Real Skills.

If you’re promised a fast or guaranteed qualification without proper assessment, that’s a major red flag. The Australian Government’s “Real Skills Deserve Real Recognition” campaign warns students and employers to look carefully at providers offering shortcuts to qualifications.

RPL Red Flags: What to Look Out For

A qualification guaranteed in 30 days or less, with “no study, no exams, no classes.”

No mention of which Registered Training Organisation is actually issuing the qualification.

Assessment based on ID and a resume alone, with no technical verification of your skills.

Contact only through WhatsApp or WeChat, or high, non-refundable upfront fees.

A third party that will not clearly identify the Registered Training Organisation responsible for the assessment and qualification.

AIE is RTO 45356, listed on the national training register. We conduct the assessment ourselves, and we set out what the process involves before you commit to anything. We encourage you to verify our registration on training.gov.au.
