OVERVIEW

  • This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required of an engineering tradesperson - surface finisher within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.
  • The qualification has been specifically developed for apprentices in the above trade. The skills associated with this qualification are intended to apply to a wide range of surface finishing work, including pre-treating work, preforming jig and barrel operations and electroplating finishes.

PATHWAYS

Further training pathways from this qualification include transition into technical work through completion of the MEM40119 Certificate IV in Engineering | MEM50119 Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade or undertaking other relevant qualifications.

  • Employment outcomes related to this qualification are found in a wide variety of manufacturing and electroplating sectors including tapware, fixture & fasteners as well as commercial applications.

To undertake this program, students must be undertaking an apprenticeship.

This course is not available for International Students.
